Unity Park: Pollinator Garden Mulch Party

Join The Watershed Project and our partners at the Watershed Stewards Program as we start on phase one of a new pollinator garden on the Richmond Greenway! We will be sheeting mulching an area in preparation for planting it this fall with drought-tolerant, pollinator-friendly native plants.

After seeing our success with creating a small but dense patch of native milkweed, yarrow, and aster–already being visited by monarchs regularly–we are ready to expand this project down the Greenway between 16th and 17th streets. Come help us install cardboard and mulch to get the weedy grasses under control, and come back again this fall to help us plant!

All tools and gloves will be provided, and all ages are welcome. Please email marla@thewatershedproject.org to sign up!
